FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What should I expect on my first chiropractic visit?
At Health Innervation, we pride ourselves on being thorough. For the initial consultation we allow 1 hour. This gives us time to take a full history and go through a series of tests to understand any issues that may predispose you to your presenting condition and ascertain what the cause of your problem might be. This allows us to tailor YOUR care to suit YOUR condition. If it is safe to do so, you will be adjusted on your first visit. For any follow up visits, we allow 20-30 minutes. This allows us time to assess you and to give the necessary adjustments and care.
Is chiropractic safe?
Yes, chiropractic is very safe. It takes a minimum of 5 years at University to become a qualified chiropractor, with particular focus on human anatomy and the safe application of chiropractic adjustments. We use the Gonstead technique, which is gentle, safe and effective. It is suitable for the whole family, including children, pregnant women, and elderly patients. Our experienced chiropractors take the time to do a thorough assessment to ensure treatment is appropriate and safe for your specific condition.
Can chiropractic help with back pain, neck pain, and headaches?
Yes, chiropractors help to relieve pain associated with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica and a range of other musculoskeletal conditions. Of all allied health professionals, chiropractors are the most adept at caring for spinal aches and pains. Through specific chiropractic adjustments, we aim to increase function, restore motion and reduce pain and possible associated nerve pressure. Each treatment is tailored to your specific condition and needs.
What is the Gonstead chiropractic technique?
The Gonstead technique is a method of chiropractic care that is unparalleled in its specificity. A Gonstead chiropractor will take the time to do a thorough assessment using a combination of spinal examination, x-ray analysis (when required) and your medical history to find which vertebra (spinal segment) is causing the problems and then apply a specific adjustment to that specific segment in order to address the cause of the problem. The Gonstead method is gentle, safe and effective. It is suitable for the whole family.
